About the event

This procession of drumming, singing, dancing is to commemorate the lives of kongolese slaves brought to Savannah, GA and their descendants. Tata Titos will lead the prayers and libations, particularly acknowledging the 400+ kongo slaves aboard The Wanderer slave ship. The Wanderer is one of the last recorded slave ship to illegally come to the U.S by way of Saint Simon Island off the coast of Savannah. The parade will be conducted on Tybee Island.
